In 1127, the Jin army came to destroy the Song Dynasty. They succeeded in their immorale mission. Inch by inch the Jin Army destroyed the Song Dynasty capturing & killing the Song people. In this mission, the people stood no chance of even coming free...or they thought. When the Jin weren’t looking the people of the Song Dynasty came together to try and fight back. Some people escaped. One of the citizens that escaped was the son of the last emperor, Song Gaozong. He hurried and scurried through the rain, eventually getting out of the Jin’s new territory. He then waited for days for the rain to clear. When he got out of the rain he went to the city of Kai’feng. Through the rain, hail, sleet, and snow he finally reached Luoyang at late at night. Tired, he went to sleep. When he woke up, he saw that many people were around him. He recognized the people as the Jin soldiers. He quickly sprinted away from them but the further he got, the more tired he became. He constantly looked behind him fearing the Jin soldiers would soon catch up to him. He kept running until he soon tripped over a rock. “Gosh Darnit” he said with an attitude. When he got up, they were nowhere to be seen. “Yes!”, he said, “I got away!”. He turned back around to fulfill his journey. When he turned around, he saw the soldiers right in front of him. He ran between their legs and crawled to a big bush. He then hid there for hours on in. Three hours later, he thought he was clear so he ran to the great city of Kai’feng never looking back. He managed to get there safe and sound.
